PREPARING FOR YOUR WAXING APPOINTMENT
Hair must be at minimum 1/4 inch long. Refrain from shaving for 10-14 days prior to service. Please do not trim hair prior to your appointment. Reduce caffeine intake at least one hour before you are scheduled. Ibuprofen may be taken 30-60 minutes before your service to reduce pain and swelling.
WAXING 101
Facial Waxing: Please discontinue use of any harsh exfoliants for 72 hours prior to your waxing appointment. If you are using Retin-A or any type of Tretinoin cream, please discontinue use for two weeks prior to your service. We use hard, strip free wax for most facial waxing services. This is a gentle, effective way to remove facial hair without the ripping sensation you might feel with strip wax. It also reduces your risk for post waxing breakouts.
Please note: If your hair is very fine, strip wax may be used to remove fine hair.
Pregnancy & Waxing: Yes, you can wax safely during pregnancy! You can expect to feel more sensitivity as your pregnancy progresses (blame those pesky hormones), but rest assure it subsides quickly and regrowth tends to take longer (also thanks to those not-so-pesky hormones).

DID YOU KNOW WE HAVE THREE HAIR GROWTH CYCLES?
i. Anagen Phase
Your hair grows around half an inch a month, and faster in the summer than in winter. The growth phase, or anagen phase, lasts an average of 3-5 years, so a full-length hair averages 18 to 30 inches. The anagen phase is generally longer in Asians, and can last as much as 7 years with hair being able to grow to 1 metre.
ii. Catagen Phase
At the end of the anagen phase, your hair enters the catagen phase. A short transitional phase that lasts approximately 10 days.
iii. Telogen Phase
Lastly, your hair enters the telogen phase, a resting phase when your hair is released and falls out. The follicle then remains inactive for 3 months and the whole process is repeated.
Each hair follicle is independent and goes through the growth cycle at different times, otherwise all our hair would fall out at once.
That being said, it is important to understand that because hair is never in the same cycle, post-wax regrowth varies depending on the person and their current hair phases.
